Illustrator

1. You will have two kinds of materials - Clear acrylic and Card, A4 size each.

 

2. Open Illustrator, click File-New and make filenames first:

[Your Last name]_[First name]_[Card or Acrylic].AI

* Do not put brackets.

- Make sure that you set RGB Color Mode under Advanced.

- Set A4 in Size.

3. Go to Edit-Preferences-Units & Display and set Millimeters in both General and Stroke.

4. Draw four guidelines at 5 mm inside the artboard. The inner space is your playground.

5. After arrange your design, select all strokes by pressing CTRL+A and set line width to 0.001 mm.

6. You are allowed to use only 2 colours - Red and Black. Do NOT use any other colours such as pink, blue, yellow, etc. even though you really love them.

- Use Red (R=255, G=0, B=0 / #FF0000) for strokes to be cut through. Make sure that you set the fill colour to None (/) not White.

- Use Black (R=0, G=0, B=0 / #000000) for strokes to be etched (cut halfway through the thickness). Make sure that you set the fill colour to None (/) not White.
