It's your second week in this course! Well, we know that most of you've got confused, flummoxed and even scared from classes in the first week.
So here is a short guide with visual examples (created by Dana Chan) and hopefully it will help you know what you are doing and will do and where you are and will be.
What you need to do in the first project are:
- Find precedent images and three directional key words
- Make sketches using Solidworks
- Develop 81 iterations from the sketches, using 3ds Max
- Create a beautiful "hero" shot
- Post many images, taken from the abovementioned processes, on your blog
- Present your work
Here is the procedure:
1.Find some precedent images and use them as starting point of your design creation. They can be anything. (artefactual, architectural, natural, etc.)
2. Complete Solidworks tutorials and sketch your own object(s) from the precedent images. Explore diverse sketch tools and features provided.
3. Choose 3 key words (noun, adj, verb; one of each) which can represent your design directions.
4. Send your object to 3ds Max (complete 3ds Max tutorials) and make 81 iterations by modifying/adding/changing forms/materials/textures/effects in various ways: Experiment, experiment, experiment!
5. Pick your favourite model and refine it.
6. Create an "eye-popping, jaw-dropping and mind-boggling" rendered image and show it to the world.
